Campeonato de Asturias de Descenso BTT

Este fin de semana se celebró en la estación de esquí de Valgrande-Pajares el Campeonato de Asturias de descenso en BTT. La organización de esta prueba contaba con tener más corredores pero debido al mal tiempo estos se vieron reducidos sin llegar al medio centenar. El sábado comenzaban los entrenamientos con grandes dificultades para los pilotos y organización debido al mal tiempo. La niebla y el frío, dieron lugar a la anulación de la jornada de entrenamientos y lesiones en algunos favoritos de cara a la competición. La Compe. El domingo prometía ser un día perfecto y no defraudó. El circuito con barro en casi su totalidad hacía que la alta dificultad se viera aumentada. A las 12:00 daba comienzo la 1ª manga cronometrada en la que las caídas y los problemas mecánicos afectaban a gran parte de los pilotos, dejando fuera de juego a grandes favoritos al podium. En esta manga se marcaría el que sería el mejor tiempo del circuito, 3’39’’ que le daba el campeonato regional a Saúl Martín. Muchos corredores con problemas no pudieron subir para comenzar la segunda manga, entre ellos grandes favoritos como Fernando Prida en la categoría “elite” y Luis Ángel Díaz en “master”. Daba comienzo la segunda manga y los corredores lo tendrían que dar todo para marcar el mejor tiempo. Comenzaba la categoría infantil y la lucha se la llevo Mario Junquera. En cadetes Luis Junquera hacia lo propio relegando al segundo lugar a Aitor López y echando en falta a Gonzalo Melendi con una lesión en entrenamientos. Tomaban la salida los Junior y Pablo Martín en una bajada sin errores conseguía la victoria dejando a Rubén Arboleya y a el claro favorito Miguel Cuervo en el segundo y tercer puesto respectivamente. Resultados. En la categoría sub-23 Saúl Martín debido a una caída en la zona final del recorrido no rebajo su tiempo. En “elite” otra sorpresa en estos Campeonatos, José María Alluntis, con una bajada de vértigo se hacia con el campeonato y con el tercer mejor tiempo general. Arsenio Villa en “veteranos”, con clara ventaja es el nuevo campeón de Asturias. Luis Fernández con una bajada perfecta se acerco a un segundo al mejor tiempo y marcaba el segundo general y se lleva el campeonato en Master-30. La próxima prueba se celebra el 10 de octubre en Bimenes, puntuable para el Open de Asturias y allí se decidirán los ganadores del Campeonato.
