Saúl Martín se impone en el DH de Lastres

El pasado fin de semana se celebraba en la localidad asturiana de Lastres, en la Comarca del Sueve, la tercera prueba del Open de Asturias de DH.   El sábado los entrenamientos habían dejado alguna lesión, algún susto y muy buenas sensaciones a la mayoría de corredores. Las últimas bajadas cronometradas apostaban por cuatro ‘bikers’ que estaban un paso por delante, pero la carrera era el Domingo. Lastres es un circuito urbano con una historia increíble a sus espaldas. El Laxtrem bike lleva más de 10 años celebrándose y en el corrieron algunos de los mejores corredores de España. El Domingo, a las 10 de la mañana daba comienzo la primera manga cronometrada, aun con el circuito algo mojado por las lluvias de la noche, y se empezaba a ver quienes lucharían por la victoria en cada categoría. Alguna caída y fallos  de corredores favoritos, dejaban todo por decidir para la segunda manga. El sol empezaba a calentar y el aire ayudaba para dejar un circuito seco totalmente para la segunda manga cronometrada. Empezaban a salir los corredores y la tensión en meta se respiraba en el ambiente.   En cadetes, Alejandro, con un tiempo de 1'39'' se imponía a Emilio y al líder de la categoría Adrian. Luego les tocaba el turno a los junior, y Marco Veiga conseguía la victoria y el 6º mejor tiempo. Las categorías Master-30 y veteranos irían a parar a manos de Luis Angel de Cuentatras, colocándose como quinto mejor tiempo y Arsenio de Arsesport. En sub-23 la lucha por la victoria estaba entre Eric Portillo (Abando Heros) y Eneko Esteban (Betibehera), quedando a tan solo dos décimas uno del otro y colocándose 2º y 3º en la clasificación general. En élite Saúl Martín de Cuentatras conseguía marcar el "scratch" de la prueba y colocarse 1º, después de la caída de la primera manga, por delante de su compañero de equipo Ricardo Gonzalez. Por lo tanto Saúl se colocaba de este modo líder de la Challenge asturiana, que en categoría Junior encabeza Jorge Cagiao y en Máster Luis Angel. Las clasificaciones se pueden consultar en la página www.ciclismoasturiano.es Así termina la 3ª prueba del Open de Asturias de descenso en btt (Down Hill), y todos con la mirada puesta en la próxima cita del calendario, en la estación de esquí de Valgrande Pajares (ver vídeo), el 1 de julio para celebrar el Campeonato de Asturias.
